About USCF Membership

The United States Chess Federation (USCF) is the governing organization for chess in America. A not-for-profit organization with about 85,000 members. Morgantown Chess Club is a USCF club affiliate, which means that we may organize rated tournaments and sell memberships. Benefits of a USCF membership includes subscription to Chess Life and the right to play in rated tournaments.

You do not need to be a member of USCF to join our club. The only restriction is that participating in any of our rated tournaments does require a current USCF membership. However, all other activities including non-rated tournaments, chess instruction, simuls etc. are open to all. If you want to join or renew your membership, please consider doing this via the chess club, as the club economy benefits from a modest $2 commision from USCF per membership sold.

Regular membership types

Adult/Regular $39
Senior Age 65 or older $36
Young Adult Membership Under age 25 $25

USCF offers other deals for prolonged membership, chess playing families, etc. The details of this can be taken from this membership form.
