2006 Morgantown Scholastic Chess Championship
December 28, 2006The Morgantown Scholastic Chess Championship took place yesterday with 20 young participants. We had two sections: in the rated Championship section Caleb Aites from East Fairmont HS made his tournament debut with a perfect 4-0 score, with our very own Sid parhi as the runner-up. Irina Crihalmeanu won the unrated Premier section, giving up a single draw in five rounds. East Fairmont HS won clear first in the team competition. Congratulations to the winners! Club meets Thursday evenings from 7 to 11pm at First Christian Church (basement) in Morgantown (directions). The club is closed the last Thursday of every month.
